For those of you who are fortunate enough to read the lady/fiance friend's blog, you may have read about her gloating of her apparent ass beating she handed to me in Street Fighter IV. I would like to clear a few things up first, before I go any farther..yes, she did beat me in the game, but there is more to the story. I had adjusted the handicap so she did much more damage and I did about as half as much damage. Still, she did play pretty good and even commented on how her chosen fighter (Crimson Viper) seemed like a "tough New York broad."
Anyway, I made this blog entry because I wanted to warn my fellow gamers about the most obnoxious video game fan out there...THE I'M BETTER THAN YOU DOUCHE BAG or TIBTYDB for short. I had encountered this TIBTYDB at the GameStop at the Polaris Mall in Columbus. I was playing the aforementioned Street Fighter IV with my cousin Erik at the time. (I was Ryu, he was Blanka) Neither of us own a X-Box 360, in fact Erik owns just a SNES, but does have a suped up, pimped out PC. I, on the other hand, own a dinosaur of a PC (bought in 2001!), but also own a PS2 and a X-Box 180. The competition was friendly, with both of us just mashing buttons and trying out all of the cool moves. In the end, I won the best out of seven though it was close. (4 rounds to 3) We were about to leave and wander off to Hot Topic when TIBTYDB pipes up from behind us.
"Hey man, mind if I get next?"
"Yeah, sure, no problem." I said, offering him the controller. I figured he wanted to play the CPU for warm up, as a large sign at the entrance said there would be a SFIV Tournament a few weeks from then. He looked at me confused and just smirked a little.
"Actually, I was hoping to play you..."
Yeah, sure, okay buddy. See, let me clue you non-gamers on a little secret...whenever a TIBTYDB challenges you out of the blue, it's because they know they can kick your ass in said video game. And believe me, my ass was thoroughly kicked. I re-chose Ryu and TIBTYDB played as Saget. In the best of seven rounds, I won 1. Final score? 4 to 1.
"Good game." he said with a slight nod, taking a firm grip on his controller. He had pimp slapped me and he knew it. I never understood why people do this. I mean, it was obvious I had no clue what I was doing. Do you think Dale Earnhardt Jr shows up at go-kart track and wastes some 12 year old kid in a race? (Tony Stewart might, but not Dale Jr.) I won't lie and say I didn't hope for a Rocky like comeback and beat his ass (TIBTYDB, not Dale Jr), but he was much too skilled for me. Sadly, fate was not on my side this day. I did get a few good hits in and even countered some deadly blows he tried to land. He did seem to get a bit miffed when I KOed him for one round, with Erik even loudly exclaiming his surprise. (Trust me Erik, I was just as surprised as you were!) I suppose I can take this as a moral victory, because I at least gave him my all and didn't back down.
Let this be a warning to you, my friends. Beware TIBTYDB and everything he stands for!
